Definitely took advantage of the chilly east coast weather over the weekend and layered like a LA girl has never layered before! This jacket and cable knit sweater are also new purchases (see last post) from when I was suppose to be Christmas shopping for other people. They're both so warm I'm actually really glad I got them and brought them to Maryland with me even though I stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the locals.You guys would be proud to know I only brought ONE pair of boots with me, besides my Uggs to wear on the plane. That's pretty impressive for a chronic over-packer like me!

Here's a sneak peak of some new additions in the family. I've been running around every chance I get to try to finish all my Christmas shopping. One of the greatest advantages and down falls of holiday shopping is that I end up making way too many unnecessary purchases for myself as well. These are just a few of the side effects that came with my gift buying, I'll show you two new pieces added into the wardrobe in my next post. How are all your XMas shopping going?

Sorry I've been MIA, took a long weekend with the boy to Maryland to spend some time with my family out there. The weather was definitely colder than LA, but I loved the cool crisp air and the excuse to pile on the chunky knits. My wonderful cousin, knowing my weakness for the vintage and thrifted, took me to a little shop there called Mustard Seed. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing their selection and prices are, if you're ever in the DC area I definitely recommend you stop by! Both sweaters I'm wearing in this post I got from there, the vintage Escada was only 16 bones, and the tiger sweater..14 bones! Pretty sure I shrieked and squealed a little every time I picked something up haha. Can't wait to show you guys what else I got later! =)

Mom's vintage blazer and dress / ASOS belt / thrifted boots

I love going home and rummaging through my mom's suitcases filled with old treasures from when she was my age. This dress is definitely one of my favorites! The paisley print, the light fabric and perfect cut, they just don't make them like this anymore. The blazer is always in heavy rotation, but in this case it was the perfect compliment to the dress, almost modernizes it a little. The boots I've also had forever, it was a Fairfax flea market find from years back that I rediscovered in the very back of my closet. Isn't it the best when you find old pieces to update your wardrobe?
