end of a year..new beginnings

This was my outfit today on my last day at work. It's bittersweet... end of one chapter of my life and the beginning of a new exciting chapter! I've had an amazing year sharing my passions, inspirations and experiences on this blog and can't wait to keep doing so as I explore new opportunities.

Now I'm trying to pack, I'll be MIA for the next two weeks. Well actually I will be vacationing with my family over Christmas and New Years to Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia! Packing for two weeks and 3 countries is no easy task, but if bringing more outfits than days than I'll be there is wrong then I don't wanna be right!

exciting news!

I didn't want to share this with you guys until I was sure but I'll be taking a new job at Forever 21 at the start of the new year!!! This is such an exciting opportunity for me given that I've been shopping there since I was 14 years old! I've witnessed their growth and expansion as a company over the last 10 years and am so excited to be apart of such a fast moving fashion company! Above is a little trends lookbook project I did for them before I found out I got the job. It's inspired by 5 current trends, classic, preppy, sweet, boho chic and my personal fave edgy. Sorry about the poor picture quality, I took them with my iPhone and I have far from a steady hand. Happy hump day!! =)

My beautiful friend Katie has the same birthday as our good Lord and since most of us are going out of town for the holidays, she had her BirthMas dinner party this past weekend. Everyone got dressed up in their holiday best and enjoyed delicious food, wine, and good company. I finally had an excuse to pull this dress out of the closet, can you believe that I haven't even worn it once since I got it over a year ago? It was perfect for the occasion, I love the color and the jewels over the nude mesh! It's back at home now in its garment bag but I already can't wait to wear it again.

Just a simple outfit I wore to dinner, was feeling super lazy lounging in that slip with the big sweater over it at home so I just threw on some tights, booties, scarf (cuz it's actually be surprisingly cold here at night) and voila!

Definitely took advantage of the chilly east coast weather over the weekend and layered like a LA girl has never layered before! This jacket and cable knit sweater are also new purchases (see last post) from when I was suppose to be Christmas shopping for other people. They're both so warm I'm actually really glad I got them and brought them to Maryland with me even though I stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the locals.You guys would be proud to know I only brought ONE pair of boots with me, besides my Uggs to wear on the plane. That's pretty impressive for a chronic over-packer like me!

Here's a sneak peak of some new additions in the family. I've been running around every chance I get to try to finish all my Christmas shopping. One of the greatest advantages and down falls of holiday shopping is that I end up making way too many unnecessary purchases for myself as well. These are just a few of the side effects that came with my gift buying, I'll show you two new pieces added into the wardrobe in my next post. How are all your XMas shopping going?
